Every day since fourth year he'd asked her out. At first, only to tease, but gradually it became the highlight of his day. He grew invested in the question, and her answer. James Potter was nothing if not stubborn, and completely convinced that one of those days she couldn't help but say yes. In seventh year, she proved him right by doing just that, and it was the happiest day of his life. Or so he thought until today.
